DRM manages content rights while application protection addresses selected client risks. Keep their scopes distinct.
Evaluation approach
Connect license requests, account entitlement, device conditions and playback policy. The server must verify subscriptions independently of local checks.
Application example
After a subscription expires, hiding the play button is insufficient: the server must reject new unauthorized license requests. Define offline license duration and renewal, then test RASP effects on that flow.
Limits and considerations
Screen capture and external recording cannot be controlled identically on every platform. Describe coverage instead of promising absolute copy prevention.
Checks and decisions
- Bind licenses to entitlement
- Define offline durations
- Document platform limits
Review account sharing, license delivery and application integrity together rather than relying on the player alone.
