A short, fast App Clip task still needs authorization and input validation. Define its relationship with the full application.
Evaluation approach
Request only task-relevant information. Let the server authorize operations and control temporary-session transfer.
Application example
For parking, the client may select location and duration while the server computes price. Moving to the full app must not charge the transaction twice.
Limits and considerations
Small binary size does not mean no attack surface.
Validating the move to the full app
Bind transferred transaction identifiers to the correct account and task. Support completion of unfinished work without allowing old requests to create duplicate lasting effects. Both experiences should follow the same server authorization policy.
Checks and decisions
- Narrow the task
- Verify transitions
- Prevent duplicate operations
